Bush tomatoes have a determinate growth habit. They are bushy or shrubby plants whose growth is naturally restricted by self-stopping main stems and side shoots. Consequently, unlike the indeterminate (aka cordon) tomatoes, they need no pruning and are grown without support. They are often early maturing and are suitable for growing outdoors and in hanging baskets.
