Brassica oleracea Capitata Group

Hybrid. Tundra is a cross between savoy and white cabbages, and produces round, medium green heads. Because of its pedigree, it is a useful dual purpose variety that is very good both cooked and eaten raw in salads. Renown for their cold hardiness, the plants can be left standing in the garden overwinter, where they will remain in good condition until March or April.

Sow seeds for transplant production in late spring (15 May is a good date to aim for). Transplant outdoors in mid-summer and begin harvesting in the autumn.
