Growing French beans

French beans can be dwarf or climbing. The climbing types, which need some form of support, e.g. a wigwam made out of eight 8ft bamboo canes, will produce beans throughout the whole growing season. The dwarf types are simpler to grow as they need no support, but must be sown on three different dates to ensure a continuity of supply.
